Sunderland Agree Deal to Sign Kevin Danso From Tottenham
Sunderland have reached an agreement to sign Kevin Danso from Tottenham Hotspur in a deal that could become permanent depending on the club’s Premier League survival.
The Austrian defender is set to leave Spurs on an initial loan, with a mandatory buy clause worth £25 million becoming active if Sunderland remain in the Premier League at the end of the season.
Danso is now expected to make the move to the Stadium of Light as The Black Cats strengthen their defensive options following their return to the top flight.
The 27-year-old centre-back will bring experience and physicality to Sunderland’s defence, having previously featured at the highest level in European football.
Tottenham have also moved quickly to prepare for Danso’s departure, with Tosin Adarabioyo expected to replace him in the Spurs squad.
