Andy Robertson Set to Join Tottenham Despite Juventus Interest
Andy Robertson is set to become a Tottenham Hotspur player after verbally agreeing to join the North London club, with the deal now expected to be completed in the coming days.
Despite a late attempt from Juventus to hijack the transfer, Spurs have successfully won the race for the experienced Scottish left-back, who is now closing in on a move to Tottenham ahead of the new season.
Robertson had already been close to joining Spurs during the January transfer window, but the move eventually collapsed before an agreement could be finalized. However, Tottenham never lost interest in the defender and continued working behind the scenes to secure his signature.
The move has also received the approval of manager Roberto De Zerbi, who views Robertson as an important addition to his squad thanks to his leadership, experience, and attacking quality from the left flank.
Robertson arrives with a wealth of top-level experience, having enjoyed a highly successful spell at Liverpool where he established himself as one of the Premier League’s best full-backs. Known for his relentless energy, defensive discipline, and creativity in attack, the Scotland captain is expected to bring both quality and leadership to Tottenham’s backline.
Juventus made a strong effort to convince the player to move to Serie A, but Robertson’s preference remained Tottenham, with personal terms now verbally agreed between both parties.
Spurs are expected to finalize the paperwork soon, with the transfer anticipated to be officially announced once the final details are completed.
The signing represents another important step in Tottenham’s squad rebuild under Roberto De Zerbi as the club looks to strengthen ahead of the upcoming campaign.
