UNICAL Suspends Two Pharmacy Students for One Academic Session Over Exam Misconduct
The Senate of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has suspended two Pharmacy students, Egbo Juliet Nmesoma and Enagu Derek Reseokim, for one academic session over examination misconduct.
The decision was reached during the university’s 257th Senate meeting held on July 23, 2026, following their conviction for possessing “extraordinary materials” during the PHM 441: Experimental Pharmacology examination conducted on February 16, 2026.
As part of the disciplinary action, the university has cancelled their PHM 441 examination results.
The suspension will take effect from the 2026/2027 academic session, meaning both students are expected to resume their studies in the 2027/2028 academic session.
The disciplinary measure underscores the university’s regulations against examination malpractice and misconduct among students.
