Marcos Llorente Retires From International Football After World Cup Triumph

Spain and Atlético Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente has officially announced his retirement from international football at the age of 31, following his World Cup triumph with La Roja.

Llorente has decided to bring his international career to an end after representing Spain at the highest level and being part of the squad that lifted the World Cup.

The midfielder described the decision as deeply personal, stressing that it was not made lightly.

“It’s a personal decision, one I’ve thought about very carefully and, above all, one that comes from the heart,” Llorente said.

His decision comes shortly after Spain’s memorable World Cup success, giving Llorente the opportunity to step away from international football as a world champion.

The 31-year-old now turns his full attention to club football, where he remains an important figure for Atlético Madrid.
