Young Nigerians, Here’s How to Get a Share of FG’s ₦5m Business Support

Written by Mary Bassey

The Federal Government has announced a new opportunity aimed at supporting young Nigerian entrepreneurs with business development training, mentorship and access to funding.

The initiative, known as the NiYA × Cascador Founders Programme, is a partnership between the Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA), under the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, and Cascador.

The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, announced the programme on Friday, saying it is designed to help young founders strengthen their businesses, become investment-ready and gain access to funding opportunities.

Under the pilot programme, selected early-stage entrepreneurs will participate in an intensive four-week programme focused on business fundamentals, investment readiness, pitch preparation and one-on-one mentorship.

The programme is expected to give participating entrepreneurs the knowledge and support needed to develop sustainable businesses and prepare for investment opportunities.

The Federal Government said selected beneficiaries could access up to ₦5 million in non-dilutive funding. However, applicants should note that the programme does not mean every participant will automatically receive the maximum amount.

The opportunity is targeted at young Nigerian founders with early-stage businesses or viable business ideas. Applicants are expected to demonstrate the potential of their ventures and explain how their businesses create value or address existing problems.

How to apply

Interested entrepreneurs should monitor the official NiYA platform and Federal Ministry of Youth Development channels for the application portal, eligibility requirements and application deadline.

Applicants are advised to apply only through official channels and avoid individuals who request money in exchange for guaranteed selection or funding.

The initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the Federal Government and its partners to equip young Nigerians with entrepreneurship skills and improve access to opportunities that can support business growth.
