Hon. Godwin Offiono Empowers Constituents in Mega Empowerment Program, Splashes N15 Million cash on constituents for business support
The Honourable Member representing Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, Hon. Godwin Offiono, Yesterday (April 21, 2025) empowered constituents with a wide range of support items in a grand empowerment event.
Beneficiaries, carefully selected from the 24 wards of Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, received valuable items including tricycles, motorcycles, sewing machines, grinding machines, rice planters, wheat reapers, and varying amounts of financial support.
In a significant move to promote sustainable economic growth, Hon. Offiono also launched two cooperative societies—one for each of the Local Government Areas in the constituency and equipped them with a fully functional Rice Processing Factory to be managed by the cooperative members, each situated in the LGAs respectively.
Additionally, the lawmaker supported selected entrepreneurs and farmers with cash ranging from 300,000-1,000,000 to upscale their businesses.
Addressing the beneficiaries and attendees, Hon. Offiono congratulated them and urged them to make productive use of the items and funds received to improve their livelihoods and not to sell it for immediate gains.
He emphasized that his commitment to the people goes beyond lawmaking, in his words:
“My main responsibility as a member of the House of Representatives, is to make laws, but learning from our leader, Sen. Jarigbe Agom, I understand the need to go the extra mile to empower our people. That’s the essence of today’s event, and I promise to do even more as we move forward together.”

Beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt appreciation, taking turns to thank the lawmaker for his impactful gesture and for upholding the standard of service and empowerment set by distinguished Sen. Jarigbe.
The landmark event was witnessed by Chief Austine Edibe(Representative of the State Party Chairman), Hon. Matthew Ojugbo, Hon. Timothy Okwoche, Dr Raphael Ogar Oko, Hon. Gabe Ugor, Comr. Brown Odey, Chief Ogbuole Agi, Hon. Friday Eji, Hon. Emma Odidi, Hon. Elijah Okache, Mr Joe Ulom, Hon. Stephen Okpako, PDP chairmen and leaders of various wards, support groups, non-indigenes, and numerous well-wishers who came to celebrate this momentous occasion.
