Chief Barr. Okoi Obono-Obla a former Senior Presidential-aide and anti-corruption czar received in audience, the State Coordinator of Youth For President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 2027 – Comr. Ofem Bassey Obono in his Ijiman residence at the instance of the National Executive Council (NEC) who entrusted the appointment letter to the state Coordinator for onward delivery to the appointee on her behalf.
The appointment letter which was initially due to be handed over by the National Executive Council of the body, headed by Comr Richard Onyebuwa as the DG Worldwide was crippled by several events ranging from the DG’s routine state tour of the federation, pressing organizational demands and correspondence amongst others; hurdled the process.

Therefore, they could not downplay a window opening, seen in Chief Obla’s presence at Ugep, in CRS where by happenstance the State Coordinator hails from as an opportunity to treat the matter with an air of rare despatch, having particularly, suffered several delays.
The State Coordinator who unveiled the appointment letter, amidst pomp and funfair, notified Chief Obla on the premise that led to his appointment as many has jolted for it. He quipped, “Chief Obla, your appointment was on grounds of merit. Classified in character, learning, experience and service. To us it is an embodiment of the trite: ‘a square peck in a square hole'”.
In appreciation, Chief Obla couldn’t resist the recognition and charged, “everyone to appreciate the efforts of Mr President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has brought a gigantic capital project to the state. The coastal line and the beauties with it in terms of accessibility to opportunities hindered initially by natural gridlock, empowerment, employment and convenience”.
Saying further, “Nigeria is divided along two critical lines. The South and the North. The South is where the President comes from which makes him our father and brother. It would be unfair not to share in the vision of his re-election bid given his glaring works and the beauty of our regional bond and proximity, necessitating our complimenting efforts for a recompense in the event, it becomes the turn of the South-South much that, when the occasion is shifted to our side, our South-Western brothers will complement our services to them while they held sway. So political collaborations are critical tools of bargaining power”.
Moreover, Chief Obla promised to begin rigorous campaign for the president in Cross River State: “I will begin with this credible organization with rich network and structure by mobilizing support for Mr President, the Governor of CRS amongst other valuable politicians with regards to the commoners”. Insisting further, “I will take us around very important and influential politicians in the state. And to the NEC, the appointment opens up a floodgate of synergies needed for upward mobility”. Concluding that, “Henceforth, Youth For PBAT will enjoy an unhindered access to me”.
At the national, the State Coordinator assures Chief Obla of a wonderful co-operation given the professionals at the echelon of the group’s affair, seen in her rich structure across the federation and beyond to blend same with Chief’s battery of rich contacts.
The meeting was attended by other executives of the body including, the Assistant Coordinator Central – Comr. Eteng Arikpo Bassey a retired senior director with the judiciary; one of the State Patrons, known popularly by his business name – Eto Water (Hon Christopher Usani); the LGA Coordinator – Kingsley Okoi; the LGAs Liaison Officer – Eteng Marcus Okoi; the Publicity Sect 2 – Paul Ubi; one of the Youth Ambassadors – Emmanuel Uket Obeten; the Ijom Ward Coordinator – Pastor Dr Christian Ofem; among very important other members of the group.
