On Saturday, the 29th day of November, Akpet Central felt the soft echo of history as Mr & Mrs. Aho Ojei celebrated 52 years of marriage a union forged in 1973 and strengthened across decades by the quiet virtues that outlive time.
Their home, blessed with children (Late Galaxy Ojei, Mrs. Patience Ani, Dr. Mrs. Peace Egbai, Mrs. Glory Ajare, Mrs. Grace Oyi, and their youngest, Mr. Prince Ojei) stands as a testament to what love can build when nurtured with patience and purpose.

But behind the longevity of their journey lies a secret ingredient one that Mr. Aho Ojei has offered as his enduring counsel to younger couples:

Forgiveness: For him, forgiveness is not the erasure of flaws, but the recognition that two imperfect souls can still choose each other every single day. It is the quiet courage to release hurt before it festers, to rebuild trust where it trembles, and to hold onto love even when pride whispers otherwise.
My Mum Mrs. Grace Ojei, with her humility, warmth and loyalty, matched that philosophy step for step transforming their home into a place where storms do not scatter but strengthen.
Their love is a poem written not in ink, but in years:
A verse for every sacrifice,
A stanza for every season,
A refrain of commitment that has never broken, even when tested.
Today, Mr. Prince Ojei, their last and surviving son and the author of this tribute, pauses to honour the legacy that shaped him. He celebrates not just their anniversary but the example they set, an example that continues to inspire his own understanding of fidelity, family, and love.
Their story is his compass; their resilience, his inheritance; their bond, the quiet fire that lights his path.
This editorial, therefore, is both a celebration and a salute to a father who teaches forgiveness.
To a mother who embodies humility and loyalty.
To a marriage that has stood firm for 52 beautiful years.
Happy Anniversary to my beloved parents Mr.& Mrs.Aho Ojei.
May your legacy of love continue to bloom through every generation that follows. Iseh!!
