Ferran Torres Rejects Inclusion in Julián Álvarez Deal

Written by Peter Ogboaka

Ferran Torres has reportedly turned down the possibility of being included in a potential deal involving Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo.

Barcelona have been heavily linked with Álvarez in recent weeks as the club continues exploring options to strengthen its attacking line ahead of the new season. However, any move for the Argentine forward would likely require significant financial maneuvering, including player exchanges.

Among the names discussed internally was Ferran Torres, but the Spanish winger has made it clear he has no intention of leaving the Catalan club. The report states that Torres refused to be part of any operation involving Álvarez, reaffirming his commitment to Barcelona despite ongoing speculation surrounding his future.

Torres, who joined Barça from Manchester City in January 2022, remains determined to fight for his place under Hansi Flick. While competition in attack is expected to increase, the 24-year-old believes he can still play an important role for the team next season.

Barcelona’s interest in Julián Álvarez continues to generate headlines, especially with the Argentine forward enjoying another impressive campaign. His versatility, work rate, and finishing ability have made him one of the most sought-after attackers in Europe.

However, completing such a transfer would be far from straightforward. Atlético Madrid are unlikely to let one of their key players leave easily, while Barcelona’s financial limitations remain a major factor in any high-profile negotiation.

For now, Ferran Torres’ stance appears firm: he wants to stay at Barcelona and does not see himself as part of any swap deal. Whether Barça will continue pursuing Álvarez through other avenues remains to be seen as the summer transfer window approaches.
