Atlético Madrid Agree €40m Deal to Sign Kang-in Lee from Paris Saint-Germain
Atlético Madrid have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for the permanent signing of South Korean international Kang-in Lee in a deal worth up to €40 million, including performance-related add-ons.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder is now set to become Atlético’s latest addition after both clubs finalized the terms of the transfer. Kang-in Lee has also agreed personal terms with Diego Simeone’s side and is expected to sign a five-year contract, keeping him at the club until 2031.
The move represents another significant investment by Atlético Madrid as they continue strengthening their squad ahead of the new season. Known for his creativity, technical ability, and versatility across the attacking positions, Kang-in Lee is expected to add flair and depth to Simeone’s team.
After joining Paris Saint-Germain, Kang-in showed flashes of his quality with several impressive performances, contributing with goals and assists while competing in both domestic and European competitions. Despite facing strong competition for regular minutes, the South Korean international remained a valuable option thanks to his vision, dribbling ability, and work rate.
Atlético Madrid view Kang-in as a player capable of making an immediate impact while also fitting into the club’s long-term plans. His arrival is expected to provide greater attacking flexibility as the Spanish giants prepare for another challenging campaign in La Liga and European competition.
With the agreement now in place between the two clubs and personal terms already settled, only the final formalities, including a medical examination and official paperwork, remain before the transfer is announced.
An official confirmation from Atlético Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain is expected in the coming days.
