Nollywood actress Cynthia Anijekwu has made an emotional appeal to Nigerians for financial assistance after revealing that she is battling cancer for the second time.
In a video circulating on social media on Tuesday, the actress disclosed that she was first diagnosed with the disease in 2023. She said she underwent surgery and several rounds of chemotherapy, which initially helped to manage the condition.
According to Anijekwu, the cancer has now returned and spread to her bones, leaving her in urgent need of more advanced medical treatment, including radiation therapy and another surgery.
Fighting back tears in the video, the actress appealed to colleagues, fans and well-meaning Nigerians to come to her aid, explaining that the cost of treatment has become overwhelming.
Her appeal has since sparked an outpouring of sympathy on social media, with many Nigerians offering prayers and calling on the public to support her in her battle against the life-threatening illness.
