The Deputy Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Akinyode Oyewusi, has distributed 20,000 exercise books to pupils and students across 65 public primary and secondary schools in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State.
The distribution took place on Friday in Ipetumodu, where the notebooks were officially presented to school administrators during a ceremony attended by traditional rulers, community leaders, education stakeholders, teachers, and selected pupils.
Speaking at the event, Oyewusi said the donation was part of his commitment to supporting quality education and easing the financial burden on parents and guardians as schools prepare for academic activities.
He encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the exercise books and remain dedicated to their studies, stressing that education remains one of the most effective tools for personal and community development.
The lawmaker also reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives aimed at improving learning conditions and promoting academic excellence among young people in his constituency.
School administrators and community leaders commended the gesture, describing it as a timely intervention that would positively impact pupils and students across the benefiting schools.
The distribution forms part of the deputy speaker’s ongoing efforts to support education and enhance access to learning materials in Ife North Local Government Area.
