House of Representatives hopeful and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Akpabuyo/Bakassi/Calabar South Federal Constituency, Fidelis Duker, has unveiled a listening-driven representation agenda, declaring that “a voice that can be heard will be heard and must be heard.” The message, delivered during a media parley with journalists in Calabar, underscores his commitment to championing inclusive leadership, responsive representation and purposeful legislative action that reflects the aspirations of the people.

Addressing media practitioners, Duker said his campaign is founded on the principle that effective representation begins with listening to the electorate and transforming their concerns into practical legislative initiatives, effective advocacy and sustainable development at the National Assembly.

According to him, “You have spoken. I am ready to deliver your message.” He described his aspiration as “a new dawn for our people and a greater tomorrow,” built on three guiding principles: Listening Deeply, Representing Fairly and Delivering Boldly.

A respected filmmaker, broadcaster and media entrepreneur, Duker said his decision to seek elective office stems from a desire to provide accessible, accountable and result-oriented representation for the people of Akpabuyo, Bakassi and Calabar South.
“Our people deserve a representative who listens before speaking, consults before acting and delivers with integrity. Representation must be measured by impact, not promises,” Duker stated.

He noted that the federal constituency is endowed with vast economic, maritime and tourism potential capable of driving sustainable growth if supported by sound legislation, strategic investments and purposeful federal representation.

Duker also pledged to champion policies that promote youth empowerment, education, infrastructure development, economic inclusion, improved healthcare and stronger advocacy for coastal and riverine communities across the constituency.

Political observers believe the media engagement signals the beginning of a campaign focused on reconnecting elected representation with the everyday needs and expectations of constituents through regular consultation, transparency and accountability.

Reaffirming his commitment, Duker declared:
“This campaign is built on listening, inclusive representation and accountable leadership. Every community deserves to be heard, every voice deserves respect, and every mandate must produce visible results. Together, we can usher in a new dawn.”

As political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, Duker’s campaign is positioning itself as a platform committed to giving the people of Akpabuyo, Bakassi and Calabar South a stronger voice in national discourse while pursuing practical solutions to the constituency’s developmental challenges.
