Football icon Lionel Messi has once again demonstrated his commitment to humanitarian causes by donating €80,000 to help rebuild communities affected by the devastating forest fires in the Sierra Este region of Madrid.
According to reports from Europe Press, the President of the Community of Madrid confirmed Messi’s contribution, which will support reconstruction efforts after the wildfire destroyed approximately 30,000 hectares of land, leaving significant environmental and economic damage.
The donation is the latest in a long list of charitable initiatives undertaken by the Argentine superstar. Earlier this summer, Messi also contributed to the Red Cross to assist victims of wildfires in other parts of Spain.
