Nottingham Forest Agree Deal to Sign Ousmane Diomande From Sporting
Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement to sign defender Ousmane Diomande from Sporting in a deal worth €40 million.
The transfer represents a major defensive addition for Forest, with the club moving quickly to secure the highly rated centre-back after renewed progress in negotiations.
The deal had reportedly encountered problems, raising doubts over whether the transfer would be completed. However, discussions have now moved forward, with an agreement reached between Nottingham Forest and Sporting for the €40 million transfer fee.
Diomande is now expected to travel tomorrow to complete his medical tests ahead of finalising the move. Contrary to earlier expectations, the defender will not undergo his medical today.
The Ivorian centre-back has established himself as one of Sporting’s key defensive players and has attracted significant interest with his physical strength, composure and ability to play out from the back.
For Nottingham Forest, securing Diomande would provide an important boost to their defensive options as they prepare for the new campaign. The club will now work to complete the remaining formalities before the transfer can be officially announced.
With the agreement in place and Diomande scheduled to travel for his medical, the move is now approaching its final stages.
