Apostle Joshua Aghasedo of Powerline Church has sparked discussion after expressing his view that the use of sex toys by married couples does not amount to sin.
The clergyman described sex toys as tools that married couples can use to enhance their intimate relationship, stressing that their use should be understood within the context of marriage.
Aghasedo made the remarks while speaking to his congregation in a video shared on the church’s YouTube channel on Tuesday.
Drawing a comparison with everyday devices, the pastor likened sex toys to equipment such as cars and mobile phones, arguing that the objects themselves should not automatically be regarded as sinful.
“Is using a sex toy a sin? Is driving a car a sin? A car to drive you from here to Dallas, is it a sin? Using the phone, is it a sin?” he asked.
He continued by describing a phone and a car as forms of equipment, using the comparison to support his argument that sex toys can similarly be viewed as tools.
According to Aghasedo, married couples may use such devices to improve their intimate experience, provided they are used within the context of marriage.
His comments have generated conversations around Christian perspectives on intimacy, marriage and the boundaries of sexual practices among couples.
