Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have uncovered an alleged baby factory in the Mowe area of the state, rescuing two pregnant women and four children from the facility.
The police also arrested six suspects in connection with the alleged human trafficking and illegal adoption activities uncovered at the location.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.
According to Babaseyi, the operation was conducted at about 8am on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Toluwalase Street, Abaren Village, via Gbarinmole, Mowe.
He said the raid followed sustained intelligence gathering on suspected human trafficking and illegal adoption activities allegedly taking place at the facility.
The police spokesman said operatives moved in after receiving information about activities at the location, leading to the rescue of the two pregnant women and four children.
The six suspects arrested during the operation were taken into police custody for questioning and further investigation.
The command said the rescued victims were being attended to while efforts were ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding their presence at the facility and identify other persons who may be connected to the alleged operation.
The police assured members of the public that investigations would continue to uncover the full extent of the alleged activities and bring anyone found culpable to justice.
Authorities have continued to warn against human trafficking and other forms of exploitation, particularly activities involving vulnerable women and children.
