UNICAL Set to Unveil New Perspective on What It Means to Be a Professor

The College of Postgraduate Studies, University of Calabar (UNICAL), is set to host a Distinguished Lecture focusing on the concept, qualifications and professional responsibilities associated with the title of professor.

The lecture, titled “Who Is a Professor: Concept, Eligibility and Profession,” is scheduled to take place at 12:00 noon at the Godswill Akpabio International Conference Centre, University of Calabar.

The event will feature Prof. Victor Samson Dugga, Provost of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, as the Guest Lecturer.

The Ag. Provost of the College of Postgraduate Studies, University of Calabar, Prof. Anne E. Asuquo, will serve as the Host, while Prof. James Epoke will chair the occasion.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Offiong E. Offiong, is expected to serve as the Chief Host.

The Distinguished Lecture is expected to provide an opportunity for academics, postgraduate students, researchers and members of the wider university community to examine the meaning of professorship, the requirements for attaining the rank and the responsibilities attached to the profession.

Members of the university community, postgraduate students, scholars and other interested persons are cordially invited to attend the lecture.
