The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Kebbi State Directorate, has appealed to Nigerians, particularly residents of the state, to remain calm amid fluctuations in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.
The agency also urged residents to give the Federal Government and the Kebbi State Government the opportunity to continue implementing various social intervention programmes aimed at cushioning the effects of economic challenges on citizens.
The Kebbi State Director of the NOA, Muhammed Nasir-Karofi, made the appeal in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, on Monday.
Nasir-Karofi acknowledged the concerns that may arise from changes in petrol prices and called on members of the public to remain patient and avoid actions that could heighten tension in the state.
He encouraged residents to continue supporting government efforts and to allow the relevant authorities to implement measures designed to address the economic difficulties facing Nigerians.
The NOA director’s appeal comes amid ongoing public concerns over changes in the price of petrol and their potential impact on transportation costs, household expenses and the wider economy.
The agency urged residents to remain informed, exercise restraint and cooperate with government authorities as efforts to address the challenges continue.
