Jumoke Odetola Announces New Calling, Says She Is Now a Minister of God

Nollywood actress Jumoke Odetola has announced a major change in her life, revealing that she has embraced a new spiritual calling as a minister of God and preacher of the gospel.

The award-winning actress shared the news on her Instagram page on September 26, 2026, describing the development as the beginning of a new chapter in her relationship with God.

Her announcement came after several friends, family members, colleagues and fans expressed concern over her recent social media posts, prompting her to reassure them that she was doing well.

Expressing gratitude for their concern, Odetola explained that although something significant was happening in her life, there was no cause for alarm.

She wrote: “I am entering a new season with God. I am now a minister of God. I am now a preacher of the gospel. Yes! You heard right! A minister.”

The actress also disclosed that she had initially considered keeping her spiritual journey private but eventually decided to make it public to avoid speculation, particularly as she intends to take her message to the streets through evangelism.

According to her, she would rather announce her calling herself than have someone record her preaching in public and create unnecessary stories around it.

Odetola further appealed to her fans and followers to remember her in their prayers as she begins this new phase of her life.

“When God compels you, you may delay, but you cannot escape the call,” she added.

Known for her contributions to the Yoruba movie industry, Odetola has received several recognitions throughout her acting career, including honours at the Best of Nollywood Awards and the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

Her latest announcement has drawn attention from fans and colleagues, many of whom have continued to express support and offer prayers as she embraces her new path.
