Special Envoy to West Africa urges President Tinubu to prioritise Welfare of Nigeria security’ as he commends recent improvements in security intelligence and inter-agency cooperation

Amb. Charles Omini, Special Envoy to West Africa for the International Human Rights Protection Service, has congratulated Nigeria on the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

Omini, while congratulating Nigerians on the milestone, said the country could build a stronger and greater future by prioritising the welfare and working conditions of its security agencies.

Omini Commends Security Agencies

The human rights advocate applauded Nigeria’s security agencies for what he described as noticeable improvements in security stability, intelligence gathering and collaboration among sister agencies over the past several months.

He said the progress recorded so far demonstrates the importance of stronger cooperation among the various security institutions in the country.

Omini, however, called on all Service Chiefs and heads of security agencies to sustain and improve the level of strategic collaboration among their institutions.

According to him, enhanced coordination and intelligence sharing will help security agencies consolidate the gains already recorded and further strengthen national security.

Calls for Better Welfare for Security Personnel

Omini said the welfare of security personnel should remain a priority, noting that adequately supported security agencies are better positioned to carry out their responsibilities effectively.

He urged the Federal Government to continue providing the necessary support and resources required by the military and other security agencies.

Omini Thanks President Tinubu

The Special Envoy also commended President Ahmed Tinubu for providing what he described as an enabling environment for the military and other security agencies to conduct their operations.

He expressed appreciation to the President for his support for the nation’s security architecture and encouraged continued efforts toward strengthening the country’s security institutions.

As Nigeria marks 66 years of independence, Omini called for sustained collaboration among security agencies and continued attention to the welfare of personnel as part of efforts to build a safer and stronger nation.
