Cross River State Government has played host to RAAMP benefitting states for the the World Bank/Federal Government
Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) National retreat,as preparation for the implementation of the project in 2023 fiscal year commenced.
The Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), which was launched in December 2022 by President Muhammadu Buhari, is an initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria and the World Bank aimed at providing access roads in rural areas to boost agricultural marketing.
Declaring the retreat open ,the Cross River State Commissioner for International Development Cooperation, Dr. Inyang Asibong, said the three-day annual retreat and capacity building workshop for the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) staff members was a good starting point for the implementation year 2023.
Asibong,commended the Federal Government for its commitment to agriculture, adding that it amplifies the agro-industrialization drive of Cross River State under Professor Ben Ayade’sadministration.
The commissioner explained that the choice of Cross River State as the venue for the 2023 National retreat and training workshop was a good choice due to its serenity and and natural ambiance,and the glowing antecedents of the project in the State in the past years,assuring them of the State\’s cooperation while In the state.
The event had in attendance staff of the Federal Project Management Unit (FPMU), State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) members from the States currently implementing the project as well Project Coordinators from other states that are soon to be onboarded in the Project.
