Liverpool Back Themselves for Anfield Comeback Against PSG

Arne Slot says Liverpool believe they can still “do special things” when they face Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday night.

Liverpool go into the game trailing 2-0 after the first leg in Paris, where goals from Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia gave PSG the advantage.

“It’s Not Impossible”

Slot admitted the result puts Liverpool in a difficult position, but insists the tie is still open.“The score was 2-0. It felt different, but that’s the result. It’s not impossible.”

Strong Home Record

The Liverpool manager pointed to his team’s attacking record at Anfield as a reason for confidence.

“In 49 home games, we’ve scored two or more goals 46 times.”

This gives Liverpool belief they can at least level the tie.

Same Attacking Approach

Slot confirmed Liverpool will not change their style and will continue to play on the front foot.

“The approach will not be very different. I don’t set my team up to sit back.”

Liverpool will press high to try and win the ball back quickly, even though it can leave them exposed.

“To get the ball off them, you need to press. We know the risks, but we have to take them.”

Big Night at Anfield

Liverpool need at least two goals to stay in the tie and will rely on their home crowd to help push them forward.

Slot and his players remain confident they can turn things around and produce another famous European night at Anfield.
