A Senior Special Assistant on Media to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Yusuf Dingyadi, has said the Federal Government’s investment in modern security equipment and the adoption of non-kinetic strategies are beginning to yield positive results in tackling insecurity across Nigeria, particularly in the North-West region.
In a statement issued on Monday, Dingyadi acknowledged that insecurity remains one of the country’s most critical challenges but maintained that recent government interventions are making a noticeable impact.
According to him, the deployment of advanced surveillance technology, improved intelligence gathering, and enhanced operational capabilities of security agencies have strengthened efforts to combat banditry, kidnapping, terrorism, and other violent crimes.
He also highlighted the government’s use of non-kinetic approaches, including community engagement, dialogue, intelligence-driven operations, and socio-economic initiatives aimed at addressing the root causes of insecurity, as key factors contributing to the progress being recorded.
Dingyadi commended the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration and the nation’s security agencies, noting that sustained collaboration among federal and state governments, traditional institutions, community leaders, and citizens remains crucial to achieving lasting peace.
He urged Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible intelligence and cooperating with relevant authorities, stressing that national security is a shared responsibility.
While calling for patience, the APC chieftain expressed confidence that ongoing reforms and security investments would further improve the country’s security situation and restore confidence among citizens.
