The National Women Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Betta Edu, has congratulated Governor Ben Ayade on his victory at the Federal High Court held in Abuja today.
In a Congratulatory Message issued by her from her Abuja office, Dr. Edu, the immediate past Commissioner for Health in Cross River State described the victory as a clear indication that Sen. Prof Ben Ayade is Gods special project and was clearly elected and loved by his people and generally accepted by cross riverians as he continues to perform exceptionally well.
“I’ll describe today’s verdict as a Victory for Democracy and a great hope for the good people of CRS with a strong determination by every positive mind to reach greater heights and achieve a holistic development. Indeed there’s hope in our judicial system.”
She pledged her continuous support to the Governor Ayade’s led administration, adding that she would ensure a cordial working relationship with critical stakeholders of the Cross River State APC to ensure that the party is victorious in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
It was reported on Thursday that the Federal High Court sited in Abuja dismissed the suit filed by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP to declare Governor Ayade’s seat vacant over his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Dr. Betta Edu stated that the affirmation of Governor Ayade’s defection from People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC by the court was “God’s Will” and constitutional
“The affirmation of Governor Ayade’s defection to the APC by the Federal High Court Abuja is how God wants it and there is nothing anyone can do about it.” She added.
She further appealed to cross riverians to use the remaining Months of the Governor’s term to continue to support and work together with His Excellency so he can complete the dividends of democracy in high spirit at state level.
“As a State we’re blessed with a leader who will never be distracted no matter what, if you watch, Governor Ayade was unperturbed by all of this, he never lost sleep for a night neither was he ever distracted. A man who God has blessed can never see any disgrace. He’s too academically sound not to know if they’ll be any repercussions to his decision which was constitutionally right just as the Courts has reaffirmed today.”
