The Cross River State Police Command wishes to clarify that the unfortunate incident which occurred in the early hours of Friday, 10 July 2026, involving the alleged harassment, assault, and public humiliation of an anonymous individual in Calabar, is not under investigation by the Command.
Credible information available to the Command indicates that the matter is currently under investigation by the Department of State Services (DSS), Cross River State.
The Command therefore urges members of the public to refrain from spreading misinformation or attributing the investigation to the Nigeria Police Force, while allowing the appropriate agency to carry out its lawful responsibilities without interference.
