Cross River State House of Assembly Embraces “Budget of Sustainable Growth” with Emphasis on Infrastructure and Public Welfare

 

The Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Assembly Liaison, Hon. Eric Azogor, recently highlighted key developments within the Cross River State House of Assembly, including the presentation of the 2025 budget by His Excellency, Governor Sen. Prince Bassey Otu. Titled the “Budget of Sustainable Growth,” this budget is focused on improving the welfare of the people and fostering a prosperous Cross River State.

Hon. Eric emphasized the Governor’s dedication to resolving outstanding debts, noting that 10 billions of naira were allocated within the past weeks to address long-overdue payments of civil servants gratuity. This commitment has brought financial relief, particularly to retirees, and has been warmly welcomed across the state. Within a year, it was said by the Governor that 73 billion Naira has been expended

The new budget proposal of 498 billion naira underscores investments in critical areas such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, transportation, judiciary, and private sector initiatives. The Governor’s focus remains firmly on the well-being of Cross Riverians, placing public interest above personal gain.

Furthermore, the Cross River State House of Assembly members, led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, have reaffirmed their support for the Governor’s administration. They collectively acknowledged that past issues were typical legislative matters and committed to working collaboratively toward the betterment of the state.
