The Cross River State Consultative Forum (CRSCF), a leading socio-political advocacy and think-tank organization in Cross River State, has congratulated all candidates who emerged victorious in the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections for the State House of Assembly, National Assembly, and Governorship positions in the state.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Forum, Barr. Eyo Nsa Ekpo, and the Secretary, Dr. Julius Ochim Okputu, the Forum commended the leadership of the APC in Cross River State under Hon. Chris Sunny Eta for conducting what it described as a peaceful, transparent, and consultative primary exercise.
According to the Forum, the successful conduct of the primaries reflects democratic values, internal party cohesion, and the growing maturity of the political process within the APC.
CRSCF further noted that the exercise reinforces Cross River State’s reputation as one of the most politically stable states in Nigeria.
“As a body committed to good governance, political stability, strategic development, and inclusive leadership, we believe the emergence of these candidates presents another opportunity to consolidate democratic gains, strengthen governance, and accelerate development across Cross River State,” the statement read.
The Forum also congratulated the Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, for what it described as his leadership style and commitment to party unity, noting that his role continues to serve as a stabilizing force within the APC and the wider political environment in the state.
CRSCF urged party faithful, aspirants, stakeholders, and supporters to accept the outcomes of the primaries in the spirit of sportsmanship and unity, stressing that the ultimate goal remains the peace, progress, and sustainable development of Cross River State.
The Forum further advised all successful candidates to sustain issue-based campaigns, remain connected to the grassroots, and prioritize people-oriented policies and programmes capable of improving the welfare of citizens.
While congratulating the victorious aspirants, the organization also acknowledged the efforts and democratic participation of other contestants whose involvement, it said, enriched the electoral process and strengthened internal democracy within the party.
The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to constructive engagement, policy advocacy, and support for initiatives aimed at advancing the political, economic, and social development of Cross River State and Nigeria at large.
The statement was issued in Calabar on May 23, 2026, with the Forum reiterating its slogan: “For Equity. For History. For Progress.”
