The Joseph Ogogo Foundation has donated books, school bags and other learning materials to pupils in Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State as part of efforts to reduce poverty-related barriers to education.
The donation was made during an empowerment programme held on Thursday, where the Foundation said the intervention was aimed at supporting vulnerable children and improving access to educational resources.
Founder of the Joseph Ogogo Foundation, Dr. Austin Ogogo Jnr, said the initiative reflected the organisation’s commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable members of society.
According to him, the Foundation’s interventions extend beyond education to include healthcare, community safety and rural infrastructure development.
He said providing learning materials was important in helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds remain in school and have access to the basic resources needed for their education.
The Foundation explained that the educational support forms part of a broader intervention programme designed to address some of the challenges facing communities in the area.
The initiative also includes tuition relief and other forms of community support aimed at improving living conditions and creating opportunities for vulnerable residents.
The beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the assistance, describing the donation as a timely intervention that would help ease some of the financial pressure on families and support pupils in their academic activities.
The Joseph Ogogo Foundation said it would continue to explore interventions in education, healthcare and community development as part of its efforts to contribute to the wellbeing of people in Cross River State.
