Savinho Move to Tottenham Takes Major Turn

Written by Mary Bassey

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Brazilian winger Savinho in a deal worth up to £85 million.

Spurs will pay an initial £75 million for the 22-year-old, with a further £10 million available in performance-related add-ons. Reports indicate that £5 million of the potential bonuses are effectively guaranteed, meaning Manchester City could receive at least £80 million from the transfer.

Savinho is expected to undergo a medical before completing his move to north London and signing a long-term contract with Tottenham.

The agreement marks the latest development in Tottenham’s long-standing interest in the Brazil international. Spurs had previously attempted to sign Savinho last summer, but the winger opted to remain at Manchester City.

However, his opportunities at the Etihad Stadium were limited last season, with Savinho making only seven Premier League starts. Tottenham have now returned for the winger as manager Roberto De Zerbi looks to strengthen his attacking options ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

The deal also represents another major investment by Tottenham, who have already spent more than £200 million on first-team additions this summer. The club are looking to add further attacking reinforcements before the September 1 transfer deadline.

Savinho’s arrival would give Spurs another dynamic attacking option as they prepare for the new season, with the Brazilian expected to compete for a regular place in De Zerbi’s side.
