Victor Daniyan is a Nigerian fintech and clean energy entrepreneur, best known as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nearpays and Yourrider Energies. Through his ventures, he is advancing financial inclusion and sustainable transportation by developing technology-driven solutions tailored to Africa’s evolving needs.
Before venturing into entrepreneurship, Daniyan built a professional career at Nokia, where he gained valuable experience in technology and innovation. He later transitioned into the startup ecosystem with a vision of using digital solutions to address challenges in payments, mobility, and clean energy.
As the founder of Nearpays, Daniyan led the development of one of Africa’s early SoftPOS (Software Point-of-Sale) solutions, enabling smartphones to function as secure payment terminals without the need for additional hardware. The company attracted support from global innovation platforms, including Plug and Play Tech Center and Visa, and earned recognition from Ernst & Young (EY) for its contribution to expanding financial inclusion.
Beyond fintech, Daniyan is also leading the clean energy transition through Yourrider Energies. The company developed and scaled one of Nigeria’s pioneering electric vehicle (EV) battery swap and charging station networks in partnership with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, helping to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
His contributions to innovation have received both continental and global recognition. Daniyan was nominated for the Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 (2024) list, emerged as a winner at the inaugural GITEX Africa startup competition in Morocco, and received the United Nations AI for Good Award for leveraging technology to solve real-world challenges.
Through his work in fintech and clean energy, Victor Daniyan continues to champion scalable, people-focused innovations aimed at improving access to digital financial services, promoting sustainable transportation, and contributing to Africa’s economic and technological transformation.
