Fulham Agree Deal in Principle to Sign Gonzalo García from Real Madrid
Fulham have reached an agreement in principle with Real Madrid to sign highly-rated forward Gonzalo García in a deal worth an initial €40 million.
The Premier League club will pay a fixed fee of €40 million, with an additional €2 million in performance-related add-ons included in the agreement. Real Madrid have also secured a 30% sell-on clause, ensuring they will benefit financially from any future transfer involving the Spanish youngster.
As part of the deal, Los Blancos have negotiated matching rights, giving them the option to match any future bid received by Fulham should the club decide to sell García later in his career.
The transfer is understood to have been strongly backed by Álvaro Arbeloa, who identified García as a key talent and played a significant role in pushing the move forward. His efforts have now paid off, with Fulham successfully reaching an agreement to bring the promising attacker to Craven Cottage.
García is regarded as one of Spain’s brightest young prospects and has impressed throughout his development at Real Madrid. The move to Fulham is expected to provide him with regular first-team football in the Premier League, offering the ideal platform to continue his development.
While the clubs have agreed on the main terms of the transfer, the remaining formalities, including medical examinations and final contract documentation, are expected to be completed before the deal is officially announced.
Fulham continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, and the arrival of Gonzalo García represents another ambitious move by the club as they look to compete strongly in the Premier League.
