Fulham Appoint Álvaro Arbeloa as New Head Coach

Fulham have officially appointed former Spain international and Real Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa as their new head coach on a three-year contract, ushering in a new era at Craven Cottage ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season.

The 43-year-old replaces Marco Silva, who left the club after five years in charge to become Benfica’s new manager. Arbeloa arrives after coaching Real Madrid’s first team following several successful years in the club’s academy setup, where he built a strong reputation for developing young talent.

Fulham’s hierarchy believes Arbeloa has the vision, leadership, and tactical approach needed to guide the club forward as they aim to build on recent Premier League campaigns and challenge for higher positions in the table.

Speaking after his appointment, Arbeloa expressed his excitement about taking charge of the London club, describing it as an honour and saying he is eager to begin pre-season and experience the atmosphere at Craven Cottage with the Fulham supporters.

The former Liverpool, West Ham United, Real Madrid, and Spain defender enjoyed a decorated playing career, winning multiple major trophies, including the 2010 FIFA World Cup and two UEFA European Championship titles with Spain. He will now take on his first managerial role in English football.

Fulham are expected to begin pre-season preparations under Arbeloa in the coming days, with transfer activity likely to follow as the club looks to strengthen its squad before the start of the new Premier League campaign. Fans will be eager to see how the Spaniard implements his style and leads Fulham into an exciting new chapter.
