The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of presidential candidates and their running mates for Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
The list, signed by the Commission’s Secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, was released in Abuja on Saturday and features candidates sponsored by 18 political parties.
According to the commission, 16 of the 18 presidential candidates are male, while two are female. The list also contains the names of their respective running mates.
The release marks another major step in preparations for the 2027 presidential election, with political parties and their candidates now set to intensify their campaigns ahead of the poll.

The presidential candidates named in the published list include:
1. Bola Ahmed Tinubu — All Progressives Congress (APC)
2. Atiku Abubakar — African Democratic Congress (ADC)
3. Peter Gregory Obi — Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC)
4. Adewole Ebenezer Adebayo — Social Democratic Party (SDP)
5. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde — Allied Peoples Movement (APM)
6. Kabiru Yusuf — Allied Peoples Party (APP)
7. Sunday Adenuga — Boot Party
8. Moses Olusoji Adebisi — Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA)
9. Nkem Esther Okereke — National Rescue Movement (NRM)
10. Daniel Daberechukwu Nwanyanwu — Zenith Labour Party (ZLP)
11. Peter Ada Agada — Young Progressive Party (YPP)
12. Donald Duke — People’s Redemption Party (PRP)
13. Chibuzor Okereke — Labour Party (LP)
14. Omoyele Sowore — African Action Congress (AAC)
15. Ada Elizabeth Fredrick Okwori — National Democratic Party (NDP)
The commission’s publication also provides details of the vice-presidential candidates who will contest alongside the presidential candidates.
Four of the running mates are female, while 14 are male, according to the details contained in the list.
The publication of the final candidates’ list gives voters, political parties and other stakeholders an official reference ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The election is expected to be closely watched as the candidates begin preparations to campaign for votes across the country.
