A female undergraduate student of the Department of Pharmacology, University Of Calabar (UNICAL), Miss Ukie, has tendered an unreserved apology to one Matthew Joseph a Bolt driver.
Recall that, Social media was awash with various publications by users on Facebook accusing a Bolt driver of being a murderer and rapist who possess weapons, advising members of the public especially residents of Calabar to avoid the said Driver.

Matthew, the accused driver, through his Counsel Romeo Ojong ESQ, petitioned Wisely Ukie, the rider whose friends acted on her behalf to the commissioner of Police who thereafter ordered an investigation into the matter on November 29, 2022.

Following the petition, Wisely Ukie, was invited for questioning by the Anti-cultism Unit of the Nigeria Police Force where she confessed to falsely accusing matthew out of anger.

Ukie was seen in company of her parents confessing to falsely accusing Matthew. Also, in an attempt to meet the conditions listed by the law firm contracted by Matthew which is the publication of a public apology on Defamation of Character in various national dailies. she has made payments to The Vanguard and Nations Newspaper though awaiting publication before her release and also paid for damages.
