Naira Marley Raises Questions Over Poco Lee’s Alleged UK Arrest

Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has questioned reports surrounding the alleged arrest and subsequent release of dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, better known as Poco Lee, in the United Kingdom.

Speaking during an Instagram Live session, Naira Marley described the situation as “false and staged,” while questioning why there has been no publicly available photograph or video showing Poco Lee in custody.

He also reacted to reports claiming that Poco Lee had been released and later linked up with Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy in the UK.

Naira Marley said he was surprised that some Nigerians had accepted the narrative and criticised reports suggesting that Burna Boy played a role in Poco Lee’s release.

“This is not Nigeria. This is the United Kingdom,” he said, questioning the absence of publicly available evidence showing Poco Lee in prison or appearing before a court.

According to the singer, there has also been no publicly verified photograph or video showing Burna Boy and Poco Lee together in the UK, despite reports circulating online.

Naira Marley further alleged that some blogs could be paid to publish false information, urging the public to be more discerning when consuming reports on social media.

He maintained that his comments were not motivated by hatred but by what he described as facts and his personal assessment of the situation.

“If Poco Lee had genuinely been arrested, he would have appeared in court,” Naira Marley said, while questioning the absence of what he considered credible evidence or an official record of a court appearance.

The singer also warned that the controversy could affect the reputations of Burna Boy and Poco Lee in the United Kingdom.

His comments come amid continued online discussions over reports concerning Poco Lee’s alleged arrest, court proceedings and subsequent release in the UK.
