The National Youth Council of Nigeria Cross River State Chapter held her engagement dinner award in respect to the just concluded Thanksgiving at the Voice of God Mission (No. 3, Howell Street, Calabar South) in the presence of the Governor, His Excellency Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, and his amiable wife, Rev. Mrs. Eyoanwan Otu.
The event began with the appearance of his Excellency Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, Deputy Governor of Cross River State,the Commissioner for Youths, the Commissioner for Wealth Creation, dignitaries, and other top state executives, including the National Youth Council of Nigeria Cross River State executives.
The event started with an opening speech from the commissioner for youth, Barr Ijom Charles, after the opening prayer led by one of the attendees. Ijom was so excited for such an amazing event organized by the youth council of Cross River State. He appreciates the organizers of the event for acknowledging God by setting up a Thanksgiving celebration and now a dinner engagement. In all the youth associations, this is the best platform to appreciate and know the importance of God.
He further mentioned his engagement with the state government on the youth budget, where the NYCN CRS subventions levy has been increased to 10 million naira. He applauds Comr. Dan Obo Jr. for always continuing his great lifestyle of leadership.
Mrs. Justina Ovat, who\’s a guess speaker, appreciates Dan Obo\’s great effort in leadership; she attests to the involvement of youth activities in the state as being the first of its kind.
Mrs. Justina talked about the growth of the youth council in Cross River State being based on unity among its executives and staff. She made instances on different platforms without unity, and the end folded off, but with unity and oneness, growth is faster.
The Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Mike Odere, appreciates the youth council for this wonderful opportunity to be called upon and to be awarded as an ambassador of the youth of the state. He encouraged the chairman of NYCN-CRS, Comr. Dan Obo, to continue his great work and leadership.
The deputy governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, once again applauded the leadership of Dan Obo Jr. Hail him for his strategic ways of governance since he emerged. He recalled his vow on youth inclusiveness since his ambition as the deputy governor of Cross River State was to always attend and support youth activities, and that’s why he’s here, not just to represent the governor.
He further mentioned his truest for Comr. Dan Obo to be concrete to the extent where all aspirants for NYCN-CRS should be directed to Dan Obo before he can approve because he believes a good leader should groom his ship as well as he\’s
Once again, thank you, NYCN CRS, for the award, for appointing me as one of the youth ambassadors, and for finding me worthy to be part of this gathering. The administration of Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu is youth-inclusive and is ready to keep its promise of making sure the season of sweetness gets to all across the state.

Peter Odey,the commissioner for youth, the commissioner for wealth creation, and Mrs. Justina and other dignitaries, for their support in grooming the youths and carrying the youths alone.
