The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has released the final list of successful candidates for its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise, with only 3,852 applicants selected from a total of 573,680 applications received nationwide.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, during a press briefing in Abuja.
According to Adeniyi, the recruitment exercise recorded one of the most competitive selection processes in the history of the service, with only 0.67 per cent of all applicants securing employment.
He explained that the successful candidates were recruited into three entry-level cadres of the service. A total of 1,275 candidates were employed into the Superintendent Cadre, 367 candidates into the Inspectorate Cadre, while 2,210 candidates were selected for the Customs Assistant Cadre.
The Comptroller-General said the recruitment process was conducted in line with the service’s commitment to transparency, fairness and merit, ensuring that only qualified candidates met the requirements for final selection.
Successful applicants are expected to follow further instructions from the Nigeria Customs Service regarding documentation, training and resumption dates.
The release of the final list brings an end to the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise, which attracted hundreds of thousands of Nigerians seeking employment in one of the country’s key security and revenue-generating agencies.
