PSG Agree Deal to Sign Lucas Digne from Aston Villa
Paris Saint-Germain are set to strengthen their squad with the signing of experienced left-back Lucas Digne from Aston Villa in a deal worth less than €10 million.
The French champions have already reached a full agreement on personal terms with the 32-year-old defender, while Aston Villa are aware that PSG will activate the move once the 2026 FIFA World Cup comes to an end.
Although the transfer has not yet been officially completed, all major details between Digne and PSG have been settled. The Ligue 1 giants are expected to finalize the paperwork in the coming weeks, making the French international one of their latest additions ahead of the new season.
For Aston Villa, Digne’s expected departure means the club has already begun searching for a replacement. The Premier League side is keen to reinforce the left-back position before allowing the experienced defender to leave permanently.
Digne joined Villa from Everton in 2022 and has been a reliable presence in the squad, providing experience, defensive stability, and attacking quality from the left flank. His move back to France would mark a return to Ligue 1 after spending several years in England, having previously played for Lille before spells with Paris Saint-Germain, Roma, Barcelona, and Everton.
PSG see Digne as an experienced option capable of adding depth and leadership to their defensive unit as they prepare for another campaign competing for domestic and European honours.
An official announcement is expected after the World Cup concludes, with Villa expected to accelerate their search for a replacement once the deal is formally completed.
