PSG Edge Bayern Munich to Reach Champions League Final Against Arsenal

Written by Peter Ogboaka

Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the UEFA Champions League final after overcoming Bayern Munich across two dramatic semi-final clashes. PSG secured progression with a 1-1 draw in Munich, sealing a 6-5 aggregate victory after an entertaining first-leg triumph in Paris.

The French champions entered the second leg holding a narrow advantage following their thrilling 5-4 victory at home, and they wasted little time strengthening their grip on the tie. Ousmane Dembele struck just three minutes into the match, silencing the Allianz Arena and giving PSG a commanding 6-4 aggregate lead.

Bayern Munich responded with urgency and dominated large spells of the encounter, but frustration grew among the German side after a series of controversial refereeing decisions in the opening half. The hosts created several opportunities but struggled to break down PSG’s disciplined defensive structure.

England captain Harry Kane eventually brought Bayern level on the night with a late equaliser, reigniting hopes of an incredible comeback. However, PSG remained composed in the closing moments to secure the result they needed and confirm their place in the final.

The victory marks another major milestone for the Paris club, who will now have the opportunity to defend their European crown when they face Arsenal in the Champions League final on May 30 in Budapest.

Arsenal booked their own spot in the final after defeating Atletico Madrid over two legs, setting up a highly anticipated showdown between two of Europe’s most in-form sides. The London club will be aiming to win the competition for the first time in their history, while PSG seek to continue their dominance on the continental stage.

Dembele’s early goal proved decisive in Munich, capping another influential performance from the French forward, who has been central to PSG’s impressive Champions League campaign this season.

For Bayern Munich, the defeat represents a bitter end to their European journey after pushing PSG to the limit over both legs. Despite Kane’s late strike and a spirited display, the Bundesliga giants fell short at the semi-final stage.

All attention now turns to Budapest, where PSG and Arsenal will battle for Europe’s biggest prize in what promises to be a thrilling Champions League final.
