Sam Larry Says Mohbad’s Death Still Haunts Him After Surviving Fatal Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road Crash

Nigerian music promoter and socialite, Sam Larry, has broken his silence after surviving a serious road accident on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, saying the death of late singer Mohbad continues to weigh heavily on his conscience and has robbed him of peace of mind.

Speaking during an emotional Instagram Live session from his hospital bed, Sam Larry recounted the moments leading up to the crash, revealing that he had a strong feeling not to leave his house that day but ignored the warning.

«“Ever since the death of Mohbad, I’ve not been having peace of mind. This thought came to my mind not to go anywhere today, but I insisted,” he said.»

According to him, the accident occurred when the vehicle he was travelling in collided with a trailer along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road.

The crash reportedly claimed the life of one of his associates, identified in multiple reports as Wale (also known as Wole), who died at the scene. Sam Larry sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he is receiving treatment.

The promoter said the tragic incident left him shaken and prompted him to reflect on life, adding that Mohbad’s death has continued to trouble him emotionally.

Sam Larry’s remarks have since generated widespread reactions on social media, with many users expressing sympathy over the accident, while others revisited the controversies that followed Mohbad’s death in September 2023.

It is important to note that investigations into Mohbad’s death remain ongoing, and no court has found Sam Larry criminally responsible in connection with the singer’s death.

As of the time of filing this report, the relevant authorities had not issued an official statement on the cause of the road accident or confirmed additional details surrounding the crash.
