UNICAL MANAGEMENT PROSCRIBES POSITION OF CLASS REPRESENTATIVES
The Senate of the University of Calabar rose from its Special meeting held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, with a resolution to proscribe the position of Class Representatives.
The decision of the Senate which was conveyed in a memo signed by the University Registrar, Mr. Gabriel O. Egbe takes immediate effect.
According to the memo, the ban is due to some noticeable unwholesome activities of class representatives in the institution.
To this end, all class representatives are to take note of the directive as failure to do so may attract unpleasant consequences.
The memo further advises lecturers to henceforth deal directly with the students without any intermediary.
Provost, Deans of Faculties, Directors of Institutes and Heads of Departments are enjoined to ensure strict compliance with the decision of the Senate.
