The Chairman of the Governing Council of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital (LTH), Ogbomoso, Prof. Banji Oyelaran-Oyeyinka, has paid a visit to the pupils and teachers from Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State who were recently rescued after spending 56 days in captivity.
Prof. Oyelaran-Oyeyinka visited the victims on Tuesday at the hospital, where they are currently receiving medical care, counselling, and psychological support following their rescue.
According to a statement issued by the hospital on Wednesday, the council chairman interacted with the pupils, teachers, and members of the medical team handling their treatment. He commended the dedication of the healthcare workers and encouraged the victims to remain hopeful as they continue their recovery.
He assured them of the hospital’s commitment to providing comprehensive medical and psychological care to aid their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
The visit formed part of efforts by the hospital’s management to monitor the progress of the rescued victims and demonstrate support during their recovery process.
The pupils and teachers were rescued after spending 56 days in captivity following their abduction in Oyo State, an incident that drew widespread concern and renewed calls for improved security in schools and communities.
