Wolves Agree Deal to Sign Kieran Trippier
Wolverhampton Wanderers have reached an agreement to sign experienced England international Kieran Trippier following his departure from Newcastle United earlier this summer.
The 35-year-old right-back has agreed a two-year contract with Wolves, which also includes an option for a third year. Medical tests are expected to take place in the coming days before the move is officially completed.
Trippier arrives at Molineux as a free agent after ending his spell at Newcastle, where he played a key role in the club’s recent resurgence under Eddie Howe. Since joining the Magpies in 2022, the defender established himself as one of the Premier League’s most reliable full-backs, contributing with leadership, defensive quality, and attacking creativity.
Wolves see the signing as a major boost to their squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign. The vastly experienced defender is expected to add leadership and stability to the team, while also providing valuable experience to younger players in the dressing room.
Before his time at Newcastle, Trippier enjoyed successful spells with Tottenham Hotspur, Burnley, and Spanish giants Atlético Madrid, winning the La Liga title during his time in Spain. He has also represented England at multiple major international tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship.
The move signals Wolves’ intent to strengthen their squad with proven Premier League quality as preparations continue for the upcoming season.
An official announcement from the club is expected once the medical process is completed.
