No discrimination and the opportunity here is for all. Among our Special Guest were David Francis (Mandela Washington Fellowship Alumni) and Gloria Henry TSN (The resource Person).
She did talked on Topic Creating jobs in this comtemporary age.
She took Yalians on the journey of recognizing the power of volunteering which has taken her to where she is today, as she uses her platform to engage and encourage people on Entrepreneurship and setting up their own business.
The Speaking Nightingale as she is popularly called highlighted points on the importance of entrepreneurship: to identify problems, create solution, develop the economy of the state and community.
She encouraged young people to build structure around their businesses by having a business name registered with CAC, having a business plan, understanding money, studying people and having a mentor/ coach. Her voice was powerful and convincing. David Francis also shared his experience and opportunities as a Mandela Washington Fellow, his life in America during the six weeks course and the impact of the fellowship in his life. This has given him a network that is invaluable as a Tech Expert and as a young person.
Other engagement during the meeting include events and project lined up for the year end like YALI4SCHOOL Event and End of the Year Dinner and Award’s. The Program Manager Comfort Ovat and Deputy coordinator Uket Friday spoke on this event which is coming up in November and December respectively.
Victory Markson the Social Media Assistant thrilled Yalians with the Power of Social Media in this 21st century. The meeting wouldn’t have ended without the Meet and Greet session. It was a time to connect with new friends, businesses and acquaintances. Who knows what could come out of this session? .. Your guess is as good as mine .
Thanks to the Specially abled persons led by Iquo Mkpang to join YALI Network.
