HELEN ISAMOH LAUDS GENERAL HILLARY NZAN ON SOLAR POWERED INDUSTRIAL BOREHOLE IN IKOM
The Honourable Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs Dr Helen Isamoh-Egodo graced the Commissioning of a Solar Powered Industrial Borehole in Aliso community, Ikom Local Government Area, today,12th July, 2024, as the Nigerian Army continued the provision of safe drinking water to rural communities in her determined efforts to shore up relationship with the people while fighting crimes and insecurity in Nigeria.
The project executor, Major General Hillary Nzan declared that the Solar Powered Industrial Borehole is one of the projects executed by the Nigerian Army in different communities in Nigeria to demonstrate her goodwill towards Nigerians and the Army\’s concerns about the wellbeing of all Nigerians who may not have access to sustainable potable water supply.
He expressed his appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff General T.A. Lagbaja for approving the project and being magnanimous in charitable causes that help alleviate the suffering of the people and community in accessing clean and safe water for their household needs.The Army Chief also expressed his optimism that members of Aliso community would appreciate and take good care of the borehole as it continues to serve its the purpose.
The Chief of Army Staff who was represented at the epoch-making event by Major General H. T. Dada, the Commanding Officer 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, commended Major General Hillary Nzan for his successful execution of the project that would have great positive impacts on the lives of many Nigerians in Aliso Community. He assured the community that the Nigerian Army will continue to foster synergy, growing co- operation and collaborative engagement with the citizenry throughout the country. He also thanked the Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, for providing exemplary leadership and ensuring good governance in the State.
In her solemn remarks during the ceremony, Chief Dr Helen Isamoh-Egodo commended Major General Hillary Nzan for demonstrating enviable dedication towards alleviating the sufferings of the people, especially in this time of severe hardship on ordinary citizens as well as the vulnerable ones in our communities. \”There is no measure that can adequately be assigned to a project such as this because human well-being is of foremost importance in everything we strive for\”, she added.
Dr Isamoh- Egodo further stated that, as the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, she found the monumental achievement by Major General Nzan to be one that would contribute to ameliorating the hardship faced by the citizens of Aliso community.\”
In one of the high points of the event, the Honorable Commissioner was presented with a souvenir plague by Major General Hillary Nzan for being kind to the vulnerable and the destitute as well as her humanitarian strides in the state.
The event also featured several traditional dances by members of Aliso community who came out in their large numbers to express their gratitude to their son, Major General Nzan and to the Nigerian Army.
