Emmanuel Akwagiobe Biography

Hon. Emmanuel Akwagiobe was born on March 13, 1974, in Kubong-Bette Village, Angiaba/Begiaka political ward. He is happily married to Mrs. Mary Nneoke Akwagiobe, and together they have four lovely children.

EDUCATION:

Hon. Akwagiobe’s educational journey began at RCM Primary School, Kubong-Bette, in Obudu Local Government Area, where he studied from 1981 to 1987. He successfully obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1987.

In 1988, Hon. Emmanuel Akwagiobe enrolled in Government Secondary School, Obudu, graduating in 1993 with his West African Senior Secondary Certificate (WASSCE). During his tenure, he held notable leadership positions, including Senior Labour Prefect, among others.

In 1994, Hon. Emmanuel Akwagiobe pursued higher education at the College of Agriculture, Ovonum-Obubra, graduating in 1996 with a National Diploma (ND) in Agricultural Technology.

Continually, he enrolled for his Higher National Diploma (HND) in the same institution which he bagged in 1999. During this time, he was actively involved in students politics/ unionism both in the campus and with the state. He was the President of the National Association of Cross River State students ( NACRISS) with several individual awards that followed.
In 2002,he enrolled and obtained a post graduate Diploma in management (PGDM)from the university of calabar.

In 2004, he obeyed the clarion call and served with the National Youths Service Crops (NYSC) in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra state and enjoyed a successful service year till he passed out in 2005.

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE/ POSITIONS.

1. Elected councillor, Angiaba/Begiaka ward in 1999 – 2002.

2. Supervisory Councillor for Works June 1999 – 2000 and later served as majority leader in Obudu Legislature Council July 2000 – May 2002.

3. Special Assistant on Special Duties under the Chairmanship of Hon. Lady Cecilia Ally.

4. Special Assistant on Legislative Affairs under the Chairmanship of Hon. Dr. Emmanuel Ikwen.

5. Special Assistant on Community Relations in charge of Obudu and Later Special Assistant on Security overseeing Obanliku/Obudu/Bekwarra Federal Constituency 2015 – 2019 under the leadership of Distinguished Senator. Prof. Ben Ayade (immediate past Governor of Cross River State).

6. Senior Special Assistants, Community Relations Obudu Local Government Area From 2019 – 2023 under the leadership of Former Governor Ben Ayade.

7. Secretary of Senate Appeal Committee of the All Progressives Congress Primaries Election of 2023 in Niger state.

8. Cross River State representative to Osun state governorship elections APC situation room under study.

9. Deputy Director (Agric), Local Government Civil service Commission.

Hon. Emmanuel Akwagiobe is poised to lead Obudu Local Government Area to unprecedented prosperity, transcending party lines to unite the community. As the overwhelming choice of the people, he’s set to harness the collective energy of Obudu to drive progress and development.

With Hon. Akwagiobe at the helm, Obudu Local Government Area is set for a new era of growth, inclusivity and prosperity.
