Prince Ndiyo: Cross River State’s Sole National Representative in NYCN Reaffirms Sokubo’s Leadership

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has only one serving national representative from Cross River State  Comr. Prince Ndiyo, the newly elected Deputy Secretary General and Presidential Spokesperson to the NYCN President.

In a recent statement, Prince Ndiyo addressed misconceptions surrounding the leadership of the council. He reaffirmed that Sokubo Sarigbe Sokubo was duly re-elected as the National President of NYCN for another four-year term during the just-concluded congress held in Bayelsa State, while he himself emerged as the National Deputy Secretary General.

According to Ndiyo, the central aim of NYCN remains ensuring that federal government benefits and youth development programs reach young people across the country. He stressed:

There is no other youth council executive apart from the just elected officials led by Comr. Sokubo Sarigbe Sokubo. I am the only National Representative from Cross River State, serving as Deputy Secretary General. Anyone claiming to hold a national office in NYCN without passing through the congress election should provide evidence.”

Ndiyo further clarified that there is a clear difference between the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and the National Youth Congress, urging the public not to be misled.

He appealed to all young people and stakeholders to support the newly elected national executives in building a better society under Sokubo’s leadership.

Prince Ndiyo also expressed deep appreciation to the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, for his support and guidance during the election. He extended gratitude to the Chief of Staff, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar; Special Adviser on General Duties, Barr. Ekpenyong Akiba; Commissioner for Youths, Barr. Ijom Ukam; senators from the three senatorial districts; members of the House of Representatives; the State House of Assembly; commissioners; and local government chairmen for their continuous support to youth advancement.

He equally thanked the NYCN Cross River State Chairman, Nurse Comr. Emmanuel Olayi, for nominating him as a delegate to the national congress, as well as all state executives for their solidarity.

Prince Ndiyo concluded by congratulating the newly re-elected National President, Sokubo Sarigbe Sokubo, along with other elected colleagues who now form the new National Council Executive.
