Scandal at 2025 Governor’s Cup! Teams Cry Out Over Hunger, Neglect — FA Threatens Sanctions

The 2025 Governor’s Cup competition, Cross River State is ongoing and has witnessed good display of football artistry from the young talents in various Local Government Teams.

However, some teams have complained about lack of incentives and motivation from their local government heads which has caused their dwindling performance.

Report reaching the FA has it that some of Obubra utd players has abandoned their camp in Calabar where their venue is and left back home, citing lack of feeding and proper care. Other teams are complaining too of proper care. But the Football Association wish to state that, there are consequences and heavy sanction for any team to refuse to continue to play or withdraw from the 2025 Governors cup competition. We implore the head of Obubra local government and other local government to rally behind this boys and make their participation fruitful.

Report from various venues especially Hope Waddle Field has witnessed the presence of the Vice Chairman of Ikom and Obanliku with their various supervisors for youth and sports, always present to cheer and motivate their players and we can see from their performance and good results. There are scouts in all the four venues who are there to fish out talented players for greener pasture. Let the support to this talented players be there so that they can enjoy the season of SWEETNESS by way of motivation.
