The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Cross River State Chapter, Led by Comr. Emmanuel Olayi has extended its statewide “Future First” Youth Unity and Assessment Tour to the Southern Senatorial District, with a strong message of unity, accountability, and responsible youth participation ahead of upcoming elections.

Led by the State Chairman, Comr. Emmanuel Olayi, the delegation moved from Akpabuyo through Bakassi, Calabar South, engaging youths, community leaders, and traditional rulers on the need for peaceful and issue-based political participation.

Speaking during the tour, Olayi emphasized that youths across the state have resolved not to be used for violence or unlawful activities by politicians. He issued a firm warning that any politician attempting to incite unrest would be challenged to present their own children or relatives to lead such actions, or abandon the plan entirely.

The tour, themed “Building Tomorrow Today: Youth Unity, Accountability and Representation,” has served as a platform for dialogue between young people and community stakeholders. Traditional rulers and elders who participated commended the initiative, expressing support for the NYCN and urging continuous collaboration to strengthen peace and development.

According to the organizers, the tour has spanned over a week, covering the Northern and Central Senatorial Districts before concluding in the South. It began from the Northern part of the state and moved across 18 local government areas, fostering conversations around youth inclusion and leadership.

The exercise will culminate in a grand finale at the State Library in Calabar, on the 40th April 2026 where findings and observations from the tour will be presented. The event is expected to feature interactive sessions, including questions and answers, as well as entertainment, bringing together youths and leaders to chart a united path forward for Cross River State.
